Some good ol' fashioned house music to get the mood going, without all the banger fuzz of today... Strip Steve's first track is pretty basic, but catchy nonetheless. Ill Will picks things up with a nice blend of piano and strings that move with the beat. Cirez D does things on a slightly darker note quite nicely.

I've heard TEPR on a couple dance mixes and was pleased to receive this song in it's full glory, remixed by DatA. Super-catchy-fun-in-your-face-dance-dance-shake-it-till-you-can't-shake-no-mo'!

Certainly you've heard The Teenagers' Starlett Johannson by now, right? Assuming you have (and you should because I've posted it on MM before!), get ready to be blown out of the water! I listened to what is being called the Connan and the Mockasins remix, which sounds more like a cover to me, and enjoyed it about 1,000 times more than the original. This is an excellent example of transforming a good song into an amazing song by making it your own... or their own, in this instance.

Love is in the air and around the corner, at least musically. My excitement for Sebastien Tellier's release was replaced with boredom upon hearing Sexual Sportswear. But Mr. Tellier has redeemed himself with the 50's meets 80's scat pop (get your head out of the gutter) song titled Divine, so I'm excited again!

And if you're lonely and bitter this Valentine's Day, perhaps the folky stylings of this one is more suited for your pity party - ha! I say this in jest, this is actually a very beautiful song by Eugene Francis Jnr, who just so happened to tour with Tegan & Sara recently. Kjetil Grande, or just Grande for short, has recently released his debut album Uppers, Downers, Screamers & Howlers. I've got to be honest, it made me shimmy a little bit. Okay, a lotta bit! This isn't quite as electronic as many of my entries, but if you dig Norwegian dance rock with drug-influence and a small hint of rockabilly then set your sights in this direction.

I've been in love with Prism Effect for a couple weeks now. I was debating whether or not I wanted to post HEARTSREVOLUTION, and since the musical blogosphere seems to be taking a very active interest in them lately, I'm no longer debating. The crazy equalization they lay down makes for some really interesting lo-fi vintage type vocals and synths up against present-day electronic beats and banger fuzz. If you haven't already jumped on it, here's your chance! I also read somewhere that they tour around in an ice cream truck handing out frozen treats to all the ravers and shakers! How cool is that?! (Don't forget about that hot Todd Nickolas remix either [I have no idea who he is, but you'll just have to trust!])
